EVC Mission |
| |
| The mission of the Erskine Virtual Campus (EVC) is to design and support online learning environments that enable faculty to facilitate learning and students to receive the highest quality theological education possible and prepare them for service in the Christian Church. |
| |
EVC Goals |
- To offer courses that make theological education available to a wider audience of candidates for ministry as well as laity for whom theological education would not otherwise be available.
- To provide high quality distant and hybrid courses equivalent in every respect to campus courses while utilizing the unique characteristics of online learning.
- To use Erskine faculty to design, develop, evaluate, monitor, and teach our courses.
- To regularly train Erskine faculty in online instruction and the use of our course management system.
- To provide technical support that enables students to access and use courses with a minimum of difficulty and frustration.
- To provide learning resources through the McCain Library on a par with the services provided for on-campus and off-campus students.
- To provide and support an online venue that enables students to interact with other students and EVC faculty.
- To regularly and systematically evaluate all aspects of the EVC program in collaboration with the Director of Institutional Assessment and the Institutional Assessment Committee.
