Master Level Application Procedures

The following are required of master's level applicants seeking admission to Erskine Theological Seminary:
  • Completion of an application form for the program for which you seek admission.
  • Submission of a $35.00 non refundable application fee.
  • Submission of official college transcripts from an accredited institution reflecting an acceptable grade point average.
  • Submission of three letters of recommendation evaluating your character and potential to engage in ministry. The recommendations need to be completed on your behalf by your home church's ordained minister or an ordained minister from one of the churches in which you have recently worked; by a college professor or a supervisor; and by a lay person from your church.
  • Submission of a two-page essay stating why you would like to pursue a seminary education.

Doctor Level Application Procedures

Erskine Theological Seminary offers the Doctor of Ministry Program. The admission procedure for this program is listed below.
  • Completion of an application form for the program for which you seek admission.
  • Submission of a $35.00 non refundable application fee.
  • Submission of official transcripts from the institutions from which you have an undergraduate and a Master of Divinity degree or the equivalent to a Master of Divinity degree. The transcripts must be from accredited institutions and reflect a "B" (3.0) grade point average.
  • Submission of three letters of recommendation evaluating your character and potential to engage in ministry. The recommendations need to be completed on your behalf by a colleague in ministry, a theological school professor, and a layperson in your church.
  • Submission of a 600-word statement reviewing your achievements, strengths, and weaknesses in ministry, and explaining how the program will contribute to your competence in ministry and service to the church.
  • Applicants to the D.Min program must have at least three years of full-time ministerial experience since the completion of their Master of Divinity program
