Rev. Dr. Alan Avera (D.Min., Covenant Theological Seminary; M.Div., Trinity Evangelical Divinity School) serves as Executive Director of Outreach North America (ONA) of the ARP Synod, a position he has held since August 2021. He returned to ONA after serving as Executive Director of Christianity Explored North America for eight years. Previously Alan had served as Executive Director of ONA from 2004–2013. ONA helps presbyteries plant and strengthen Associate Reformed Presbyterian Churches undergirded by evangelism.
Dr. Avera has been a pastor and church planter in Northeast Presbytery and he has served as an officer in the US Navy. Alan is married to Eileen, and they have three grown children and four grandchildren. Alan and Eileen live in Greenville, SC. They enjoy gardening, being outdoors, and watching college basketball.
