Dr. Clavell began his career as a metal craftsman and entrepreneur in New York City. When he moved to Arizona, he continued his business ventures as owner-operator of Jessco Industries and production manager of Heritage Metalworks. He moved into ministry and academics, serving as a children’s pastor, church plant pastor, and executive pastor, as well as dean of students and director of Escuela de Esperanza at Phoenix Seminary.
Clavell most recently served at Arizona Christian University (ACU) as dean of academic affairs, interim head of the School of Business Administration, and director of assessment. His service at ACU included roles as adjunct instructor in the Bible and business administration departments and as associate professor in the business administration department. He retired from ACU in March 2023.
Dr. Clavell is a graduate of Baruch College in New York City and was awarded a Master of Divinity degree in Leadership as well as a Doctor of Ministry degree in Biblical Studies and Leadership at Phoenix Seminary.
