A Nation in Need of Christ

June 18, 2020

RE: On the Present Unrest in our Nation

To Our Seminary Community:

As our nation faces trials amidst division and violence, we recommit ourselves to our mission of preparing men and women to proclaim the Great Commission of our Lord Jesus Christ. We pray and we work so that people will be transformed by the love and forgiveness of Jesus Christ. For in receiving such grace human beings may be released from the cycle of sin that keeps us from God’s will. Then, shall our people be able to live out St. Paul’s command:

“bearing with one another, and forgiving one another, if anyone has a complaint against another; even as Christ forgave you, so you also must do” (Colossians 3:13 NKJV).

Christ is our only hope in such times. Our mission of shepherding shepherds who will shepherd the flock has never been more vital.

Please join me as we commit to pray for our nation and to plead with the Lord for revival.

Sincerely yours,

MICHAEL A. MILTON, Ph.D., M.Div., M.P.A.
Provost and James Ragsdale Chair of Missions and Evangelism
